Job/Professional Opportunities

  • University of Washington - Postdoc
The University of Washington’s School of Environmental and Forest Sciences (SEFS) is seeking a full-time (100% FTE) postdoctoral researcher to work with an interdisciplinary team to develop global wood product supply chain models. The position will be an initial 24-month appointment with the possibility of extension. The Postdoctoral Scholar will be associated with the Center for International Trade in Forest Products (CINTRAFOR) within SEFS and contribute to a broad base of research projects, including global wood products supply chains and related econometric modeling. The successful candidate will be involved primarily in a research project that will provide a comprehensive assessment of the global supply chain for mass timber construction projects, considering construction capabilities, manufacturing capacity, and the reliable supply of sustainable raw materials. The focus of the project is on the mass timber supply chain and the regional capacities to reliably and sustainably deliver mass timber materials (including cross-laminated panels, glued, laminated beams, and other mass timber construction materials) rather than the technical and performance issues of mass timber construction materials which will vary by project.
